German B2, or upper-intermediate, is a level where learners can confidently communicate in everyday and professional situations, understand complex texts, and participate in abstract discussions. At this stage, individuals can express opinions, explain viewpoints, write detailed texts like reports and formal letters, and interact fluently with native speakers. Key skills include handling a wide range of topics and using more advanced grammar structures.

Description
This course will
support you in reaching or expanding the B2 level in German. It will provide
you with vocabulary, structure explanations, examples and exercises. The goal
is to understand, speak and write German correctly on a higher intermediate
level and give your language more variety.
We will work
with a lot of examples to help you understand how certain structures are used
in various contexts. All the examples and also the quizzes contain B2
vocabulary, which is (potentially) new to you. Take notes whenever necessary.
Later in the course there are also lectures for word building.
Each topic
usually consists of:
- one or more
videos with explanations of structure/grammar and expression (How to say this?
How to say it besides and why?), - please note that these explanations are all
in German, and if you cannot understand everything, you can use the English
subtitles -,
- one or more
videos with only example sentences related to the topic,
- a quiz,
- additional
exercises (written).
Sometimes there
are also additional small quizzes or further tips.
With the quizzes
and exercises you can practice right away what you have learned. You can
download the written assignments in pdf format. They are usually attached to
the quiz lesson. Open the section you are working on in the overview on the
right and then click on 'Resources' to download the file.
Some topics have
assignments with an individual solution and you can share them with me and
other students.
There are also
pdf-files attached to each lecture with the slides of each of them. Through the
transcript button of the video player, you can also access a written version of
all lesson-explanations (make sure, the subtitles are set to English or German to
access the files respectively).
This course will
help you to further your fluency and accuracy in German which will certainly
serve you well in reaching your goals.
Please note that
the speed of the videos can be changed in case you find them too fast (or too
slow). This setting can be found on the bottom left of the Udemy video player
(standard setting: 1x).
